Welcome to Sheritage

Here you are able to share your family history with others, help people research their history and supply information of different landmarks that may be to do with your heritage. Even get help from me and any other user.

We can search through the web to find places, events and family members. Just give your chosen person some base information and they can research for you if you don't want to do it yourself. But don't give information to people you don't trust, get to know them a bit first, or just come to me.

Make posts about your or others family history (providing you have permission) so different people can comment or help you.

I hope you enjoy yourself on this site, please give feedback though,

Perran Drew.

Please put any pictures of relatives or places to do with your heritage. I'm bored of just seeing the pics of Drogo Castle.

I am descended from William the Conquerer and my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-Grandad was some sort of Lord but he sold his title to someone and my dad found a picture of the Duke of somewhere possible Kent or Leeds or York and when we zoomed in on his face he had the exact same nose shape and stuff as my dad, in fact, he looked like my Grandad.

Interesting but I'm curious as to whether you are actually related to william the conquerer and not just his side man as it were. And if your so-called great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-Grandad sold his title to someone else then whether you are related to someone completely different. But I'm open to proof and I would like to hear more about this story.

Thanks,

There is a site called Ancestry.co.uk which provides a search bar for names and places and stuff so you could go on there but you have to pay, although you do get a free trial for about a month.

Hope this helps,

Subject: Castle Drogo ?

For a while my Grandad has been researching different parts of his family and he has found a lot of information, going back hundereds of years. I think he has gone back to around the 11th century but I'm not sure. His family name, like mine is Drew, and we think it might be linked to the name Drogo, after drifting through other versions of the name. Now, just outside Cornwall, there is a castle named Castle Drogo, which is to do with the Drews as the people who live there now are the Drewes. Drogo is of French origin which makes sense, seeing as in the 10 hundereds the Normans invaded and took over England, so Drogo probably did come over from France at that time.

Hope you can help me out on this one but my Grandad will continue to research.
